ALBUM – CURSIVE WRITING

An authentic Montessori curriculum introduces children to cursive writing as it follows the children’s natural ability to scribble in continuous circles. Spacings and alignment are easier for children with cursive than print, where they need to lift their finger after every letter. Below are some examples of our children’s cursive handwriting that is well-spaced and well-aligned.

Cursive Writing 1

In a Montessori classroom, children are taught to write in cursive as it follows the child’s natural ability to scribbles in continuous circles.

These cursive writings, by our children 4 and 5 years of age, are the perfect examples that debunk the popular myth that ‘printing is easier to learn as children often get confused with cursive’
