Our Casa program for children 2.5 to 6 years of age combine an authentic Montessori curriculum with frequent walking trips around the school making learning more practical and fun for them. In addition, whenever possible, to instill empathy, kindness, and compassion, we include our children in the planning of volunteer activities that the school participates in.
Taking advantage of our unique location in the serene Oak Ridges area of Richmond Hill, we visit with children in small groups to nearby parks, nature reserve, bank, post office, and other local businesses that make learning more practical and fun for our children while allowing them to develop general knowledge and social skills.
Our curriculum, classrooms, staff qualifications, and teaching standards meet the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) requirements and we are currently seeking AMI Recognition.
In addition to meeting AMI guidelines, our programs also align with the Child Care and Early Years Act, 2014. They also are consistent with the Ontario Ministry of Education’s policy on programming and pedagogy on How Does Learning Happen? For more details about our program alignment, please request to review our Program Statement in our Parent Handbook.
