Nurturing one child at a time

OUR DIFFERENCE

Our program design combines three elements – authentic Montessori curriculum, frequent walking trips around the school, and inclusion of children in the planning of volunteer activities that the school participates in.

Together, the mix of these three elements, make learning more practical and fun for our children while enabling them to develop intellectual, physical, emotional, social, and spiritual areas to become balanced individuals.

OUR aim

holistic development

Our aim is to nurture every child, one child at a time, in achieving his or her highest potential.  Our ultimate goal is to provide our children the foundation for their holistic development – the development of intellectual, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual areas so that they can become well-rounded individuals.

We strive to achieve this by offering them enriched, intellectually stimulating learning environments surrounded by an abundance of excellence, respect, independence, love, and harmony.  We also incorporate informal walks around school that makes learning more practical and fun while providing our children more opportunities to expand their general knowledge and social skills.

OUR VALUES

Our seven core values – Integrity, Equality, Dignity, Respect, Compassion, Love, and Harmony – define our school’s identity, its purpose and reflect our sincere commitment to the Montessori philosophy. We are dedicated to upholding these values in delivering our services to our children, parents, guardians, volunteers, suppliers, and others associated with our school community.

COMMITMENT TO MONTESSORI QUALITY

Three fundamental aspects define the quality of any school – the curriculum, learning environment, and, above all,  experienced, caring, and talented staff

We practice authentic Montessori methodology as established by Dr. Maria Montessori. Our classrooms are organized with intellectually stimulating Montessori activities that encourage children to explore and learn independently. Our AMI-trained senior staff has over 30 years of combined Montessori experience and share our passion for developing our children the Montessori way – Nurturing one child at a time.

UNIQUE PROGRAM DESIGN

Our program design combines three elements – authentic Montessori curriculum, frequent walking trips around the school, and inclusion of children in the planning of volunteer activities that the school participates in.

Together, the mix of these three elements, make learning more practical and fun for our children while enabling them to develop intellectual, physical, emotional, social, and spiritual areas to become balanced individuals.

ENRICHED ENVIRONMENT FOR HOLISTIC DEVELOPMENT

“The absorbent mind of the child orients itself in the environment;
so it is necessary to prepare the environment with much care.”
– Dr. Maria Montessori, in her book, “The Absorbent Mind”

Our Casa classrooms (for age 2.5 to 6 years) are carefully prepared to provide the foundation for holistic development. The full set of Montessori materials cover the five main areas – practical life, sensorial, math, language, and culture, while our program design cater to their social, emotional and spiritual development.

Our Montessori Toddler classroom (for age 1.5 to 3 years) is organized to focus on the development of children’s senses, their muscular systems, and motor skills. Toddler activities are designed to appeal to their natural sense of order and desire for learning. They encourage the children towards independence and exploratory learning that prepares them for the next phase of learning.

Our large backyard is ideal for our children to learn, socialize and play in a home-like setting.

OUR STAFF – QUALIFIED, EXPERIENCED, AND CARING

“Our work is not to teach, but to help the absorbent mind  in its work of development.”
“Our work as adults does not consist in teaching, but in helping the infant mind in its work of development.”
– Dr. Maria Montessori, in her book, “The Absorbent Mind”

All our senior staff are AMI trained and have over 30 years of combined Montessori experience.  They are caring, compassionate, and share our passion and dedication for nurturing our children the Montessori way – one child at a time.  They are also committed to following our Code of Conduct and upholding our values in caring for and nurturing our children.

Serene Location

Our location is unique. We are located in the serene Oak Ridges area of Richmond Hill near Ozark Park, the Bond Lake Arena, a Bank, a Retirement Residence, and many other local businesses, including the tranquil Lake Wilcox Fish and Wildlife Refuge.

The proximity to these locations enables us to offer a unique program for our children that provides ample opportunities for them to explore nature, develop general knowledge and social skills.  This is fundamental to our objective of providing for their holistic development

LOVE FOR CHILDREN

Our love and passion for nurturing children is beyond what words can describe.  Respect for children is fundamental to the Montessori philosophy and the way we observe and guide them individually towards their holistic development.  It will be our pleasure to host and care for your little ones.

Come experience the little haven we have created for our children.  We are sure they will be thrilled to be here.  And so will we.
